Thanks for the comment TJ. I'm especially interested in what happens when we bring together different technologies in new and unexpected ways. Re power, that's a good question, although the whole thing is clearly designed to work on very little power: its predecessor design

@mrdon: Yes it does look very promising and even when you do not have robots operating fully, the improvements are happening in quick time.

Greg,

Industrial HIM controllers seems like another possible area to benefit from this technology. The embedded LED will provide visual feedback as the skin is touched for machine control applications.

I suppose this was inevitable, although I'm surprised to see it so soon. As you point out, Ann, we've seen all kinds of human-like qualities in robots recently -- thought control, gesture recognition and even sense of humor.

Ann, my first thought on reading your article and viewing the slides was: how to power it?  This was not a criticism of the technology; it's fantastic and I'm thinking of ways to power it simply.

Design News may have a budding role in technology synergy - introducing unrelated technologies to each other to see what might arise from their meeting.

Imagine what this technology, combined with bluetooth connectivity, combined with inductive no-wire power transfer could become.
