3M introduced a new automotive window film, called FX Premium, which is manufactured without any metals to avoid interference with signals for cell phones and GPS systems. 3M says FX Premium also provides 99 percent UV protection, which helps reduce cracking and fading of trim, upholstery and carpet, while also protecting passengers from UV rays. The plastic used in the film is polyester.
