Manufactured using Quantum Composites’ new hybrid carbon fiber composite compression molding compound material, this heavy truck part shows detailed rib structures and air flow surface. It is representative of the lightweight, high-strength applications possible with the new AMC-8590-12CFH material. Price is comparable to high-performance fiberglass compounds, such as a vinyl ester resin system with 50 percent to 60 percent glass fiber.

Ann, the material certainly sounded like it was created just for the drone manufacturing process.
But if you really don't want drones in your area there are ways to discourage them from coming near you. Some of the ways are more subtle, while others are quite a bit lkess subtle. And don't forget that it is still possible to purchase some quite powerful IR lasers for a quite cheap price. And a blind drone is a harmless drone.
Ann, I am not certain just what I think about them in my area. BUT part of considering secondary results of actions is considering how things may be neutralized. Besides that, the cjhallenge of arriving at a way to neutralize whatever calls itself the authority is always entertaining. Not to do it, but to determine how it could be done. It is a challenge sort of thing.
Also, one of the things that I am rewarded for is finding ways to avoid what others may do. It's a problem solving sort of thing.
HP revealed more of its 3D printing plans in a recent webinar. Senior vice president of inkjet and graphics solution business Stephen Nigro spoke about how the technology works and expanded on HP's vision of open collaboration to commercialize its Multi Jet Fusion 3D printing technology for end-production, and open collaboration on new materials. He also said HP will create software to help users decide when to use Multi Jet Fusion versus conventional subtractive manufacturing.
A lightweight electric urban concept car designed by several European companies weighs only 992 lb without its battery. It would have weighed 26.7 lb more if its windows were made of glass instead of the specially coated LEXAN polycarbonate resin from SABIC Innovative Plastics.
Skylar Tibbits' team in MIT's Self-Assembly Lab is now 4D printing self-assembling shapes made of programmable carbon composites and custom wood grain. The composites are being used in a sport car airfoil, and the wood grain is beautiful.
The NanoSteel Company has produced high-hardness ferrous metal matrix composite (MMC) parts using a new nanosteel powder in a one-step 3D-printing process. Parts are 99.9% dense, crack-free, and with wear resistance comparable to M2 tool steels.
