Manufactured using Quantum Compositesí new hybrid carbon fiber composite compression molding compound material, this heavy truck part shows detailed rib structures and air flow surface. It is representative of the lightweight, high-strength applications possible with the new AMC-8590-12CFH material. Price is comparable to high-performance fiberglass compounds, such as a vinyl ester resin system with 50 percent to 60 percent glass fiber.

Ann, the material certainly sounded like it was created just for the drone manufacturing process.
But if you really don't want drones in your area there are ways to discourage them from coming near you. Some of the ways are more subtle, while others are quite a bit lkess subtle. And don't forget that it is still possible to purchase some quite powerful IR lasers for a quite cheap price. And a blind drone is a harmless drone.
Ann, I am not certain just what I think about them in my area. BUT part of considering secondary results of actions is considering how things may be neutralized. Besides that, the cjhallenge of arriving at a way to neutralize whatever calls itself the authority is always entertaining. Not to do it, but to determine how it could be done. It is a challenge sort of thing.
Also, one of the things that I am rewarded for is finding ways to avoid what others may do. It's a problem solving sort of thing.
How can automakers, aerospace contractors, and other OEMs get new metal alloys that are stronger, harder, and can survive ever higher temperatures? One way is to redesign their crystalline structures at the nanoscale and microscale.
Although a lot of the excitement about 3D printing and additive manufacturing surrounds its ability to make end-products and functional prototypes, some often ignored applications are the big improvements that can come by using it for tooling, jigs, and fixtures.
A fun and informative tour you can attend at the upcoming Design & Manufacturing Minneapolis, MD&M Minneapolis, and other events there, is the Materials Innovation Tour on Wednesday afternoon. I'll be leading it.
Focus on Fundamentals consists of 45-minute on-line classes that cover a host of technologies.
You learn without leaving the comfort of your desk. All classes are taught by subject-matter experts and all are archived.
So if you can't attend live, attend at your convenience.
