The IPC – or Association Connecting Electronics Industries – has a good collection of links to major component manufacturers’ Websites at: http://leadfree.ipc.org/LF_4-2.htm.
Although the list is not comprehensive, it includes many of the leaders in the component industry’s migration to green products, including Texas Instruments, AMD, Altera, Intel, Phillips, Tyco Electronics, Fairchild Semiconductor and many others.
The handy aspect of this collection is that each link goes directly to the company’s core information on its progress to lead-free components, including lists of compliant parts as well as details on how the company approaches the challenge of going green. The sites present technical information on the companies’ lead-free plating and finishes.
In addition to data on the supplier’s line of lead-free parts, most of the Websites contain background information on the hot-button issues in the transition to compliant components, including technical articles and white papers.
