I am another one who thinks that FB purchased the company so that theyn could control who gets to use the technology rather than to seriously push ahead. So it is a situation of hoping that we are wrong and that FB may do something good for everybody else, rather than just to cram more profits in thier pockets. How much money can one group possibly need?

When Facebook bough Oculus, I was a little sad.  I'm happy that the founders were able to make money on the deal but I doubt that FB can move Oculus forward.

Mostly, I doubt that Zuckerberg can enter the gaming industry successfully.  Ocuclus is awesome for gamers.  Gaming can help move VR to the next level. And, Ocuclus is pretty cool for the rest of us too.

I'm waiting to see what FB does with the talented engineers on the team.

The Dutch are known for their love of bicycling, and they’ve also long been early adopters of green-energy and smart-city technologies. So it seems fitting that a town in which painter Vincent van Gogh once lived has given him a very Dutch-like tribute -- a bike path lit by a special smart paint in the style of the artist's “Starry Night” painting.

For decades, engineers have worked to combat erosion by developing high-strength alloys, composites, and surface coatings. However, in a new paper, a team at Jilin University in China turned to one of the most deadly animals in the world for inspiration -- the yellow fat-backed scorpion.
