Miroslav--I remain constantly amazed as to how these manufacturers assemble so much into such a small package.  I don't really know why they would feel the need to go smaller but that's their decision.  I suppose SAMGSUNG has conducted focus groups that tell them this direction is the proper direction.  With the productions numbers needed, I'm assuming most, if not all, assembly is done by robotic systems.  Do you know if this is the case?  Also, are the phones assembled in a clean room environment?  It seems as though cleanliness would need to be a factor in the assembly.  Excellent post.

"Agreed .. but we find phones with almost similar specs at a cheaper price so I think it will be a factor."

Far911, agreed; if other specifications are almost similar then price can be the factor.

"I guess grading will also be dependant on the price comparison."

Far911, I think price won't be the single parameter for comparison. We have to consider other factors like functionality, application, performance etc for a better comparison.

"This one did not look too bad.  I see that the score was only 5 of 10, but many recent teardowns I have seen here get a much lower grade."

Naperlou, you are right. What is meant by this score? Is it something derived from features/performances?

"Wish your Samsung Galaxy S5 was a bit smaller? Wish no more. Introducing the Samsung Galaxy S5 Mini. Tech specs include:"

Miroslave, other than screen size; is there any major technical difference between S5 and S5 mini. During their previous release also (S4), they had a mini version for that.

The increased adoption of wireless technology for mission-critical applications has revved up the global market for dynamic electronic general purpose (GP) test equipment. As the link between cloud networks and devices -- smartphones, tablets, and notebooks -- results in more complex devices under test, the demand for radio frequency test equipment is starting to intensify.
Much of the research on lithium-ion batteries is focused on how to make the batteries charge more quickly and last longer than they currently do, work that would significantly improve the experience of mobile device users, as well EV and hybrid car drivers. Researchers in Singapore have come up with what seems like the best solution so far -- a battery that can recharge itself in mere minutes and has a potential lifespan of 20 years.
