Thanks for your comment, fm. Yes, I agree, this is a great effort to see from a utility. It's very progressive thinking because some people might not even be aware of their options for renewable energy unless they hear this message from their local utility grid. I hope it's a successful effort for them and more utilities take heed and do the same. In the case of renewables, I thinjk change has to happen from within, and this is an instance in which that is happening.

Elizabeth, it's good to see that there are *some* utilities that are seeing that there may be some value to something besides the usual hub-and-spoke utility-owns-all model (even though this is a utility's facility that is all that's in this microgrid). Thanks for including the link to the company in your article; it will be interesting to follow this project & see what kind of results they'll get. Maybe a followup article at some future date?
