Design Tips for Engineers: The Finishing TouchVendor:Hydro Aluminum | Type:Design Guide | Category: Materials/FasteningNumerous finish options are available for aluminum extrusions and selecting a surface finish of an extruded component can be a critical design decision. During the extrusion process, a corrosion-resistant film forms on the surface that provides a durable protective barrier. Additional protective barrier. Additional finishes will depend on the aesthetic and functional requirements of the extruded part and finished product.
Siemens PLM Webcast on Mechatronics Process ManagementVendor:Siemens PLM Software | Type:Web Event | Category:Materials/FasteningBuilding intelligence into a product requires software that is integrated with certain functions of the product. The addition of wire harness, electronics and software to an already complex product development process adds new challenges for the product development schedule, cost and quality. All of these different types of data, as well as their change processes, must be managed and shared.
Learn how Teamcenter's Mechatronics Process Management can provide solutions to:

For industrial control applications, or even a simple assembly line, that machine can go almost 24/7 without a break. But what happens when the task is a little more complex? That’s where the “smart” machine would come in. The smart machine is one that has some simple (or complex in some cases) processing capability to be able to adapt to changing conditions. Such machines are suited for a host of applications, including automotive, aerospace, defense, medical, computers and electronics, telecommunications, consumer goods, and so on. This radio show will show what’s possible with smart machines, and what tradeoffs need to be made to implement such a solution.
