The insert presses into a round, pre-drilled hole, which is captivated as sheet metal flows around the hexagonal-head. The shaft passes through the insert and the nut. Tightening the nut on the insert's threaded and slotted extension creates a radial force on the shaft, locking it in position without marring its surface.
Designed for rotary or axial positioning or stationary shafts, the patented 'T-Lock' two-piece shaft-locking device simplifies the mounting of shafts into sheet metal or plastic panels.
With a stationary cam mounted on the shaft, tightening the nut locks the shaft with respect to the sheet metal. Loosening the nut allows repositioning the shaft axially, and the cam rotationally.
Applications include adjusting limit stops, or angular or axial position of cylindrical components such as solenoids, tubes, or air cylinders.
