More rollers mean that, for many applications, bearings can be downsized to reduce cost without affecting performance.
Thanks to an optimized cage design in combination with a proprietary steel, EW series bearings carry an increased number of larger roller elements than competing cylindrical roller bearings. Radial load capacity is said to exceed that of conventional cylindrical roller bearings by 17 to 20% with no reduction in axial load capacity.
Improved roller guiding areas within the cage also reduce roller skewing. This leads to lower running temperatures and longer life, despite the increased roller complement. Also, bearing vibration is significantly lower, cutting noise as much as 7 db.
Applications include gearboxes and large kW electric motors.
