Designed for precision dispensing of drugs, colorants, and food additives, this pump's single crankshaft drives two fluid-displacing pistons, two cylinders, and has no port valves.
Crankshaft speed and position control provide accurate volume delivery from zero to maximum speed. Detachable manifold provides either independent or connected cylinder channels. Spring-loaded lip seals between pistons and cylinders, combined with optically flat mating surfaces between cylinder heads and port plates, result in zero leakage and fluid "slip by." Such machines are suited for a host of applications, including automotive, aerospace, defense, medical, computers and electronics, telecommunications, consumer goods, and so on. This discussion will examine what’s possible with smart machines, and what tradeoffs need to be made to implement such a solution.
