Hexapod motion benefits are well known. Unlike serial drive systems, the stiffness of every axis adds to that of the overall system. And because no drive axis is built on top of another, all axes have the same power requirements, allowing high dynamic performance. The absence of bending loads, and therefore guiding devices, reduces cost.

For high-accuracy robot applications, Hexamove cylinder axes are equipped with digital linear displacment transducers.

The Hexamove Motion System builds on these advantages by incorporating hydraulic servo drives, and a control unit with large memory capacity. Hydraulic servo drives handle heavy loads and high dynamics with a single, economic power supply. The memory capacity of the control unit permits large motion programs. These can be written either in ISO code or in Hexamove's own format.
In addition, an open system architecture makes Hexamove suitable for automated processes. Other applications include motion platforms for vehicle and flight simulators, drive systems for NC machines, and robots.
