Recognizing how busy you are, we on the editorial staff at Design News are always looking for new ways to help make it easier for you, our readers, to quickly get the information you want and need. Sometimes, that involves doing away completely with the old and bringing on the new.
Effective this month, we are pleased to announce that we are converting to an online reader service card. This new service completely replaces the paper bingo card in the magazine—the postcard you've circled numbers on in the past to get more information on products and technologies covered in the magazine.
While the system will be more efficient for us to administer, the primary reason that we're making this change is because you asked us to. In a recent survey, 75% of you told us that you prefer to use the Internet to obtain information on technologies that you've read about in the magazine. That's no surprise, given that nearly 90% of you say the top reason you use the Internet is to obtain information on new products.
We've made the new online reader service card extremely easy to use. You simply go to www.designnews.com/info and enter the reader service numbers that appear in the articles or ads you're interested in. Best of all, instead of waiting weeks to get the information you're looking for, your request will be processed within 24 hours.
On another note, we're always interested in your feedback on the articles we write and how good a job we're doing. So also beginning this month, we're including the author's e-mail address at the end of all major features. Whether it's thumbs up or thumbs down, we value your opinions and look forward to hearing from you.
