On the heels of announcing a partner to develop search capabilities for its PLM platform, open source vendor Aras announced this week the development of Android and iPhone mobile applications that specifically work with its Aras Innovator PLM platform. The apps, developed by Aras partner Porchys, allow companies to extend all the product-related data and PLM processes to their mobile users on the go. Aras President Peter Schroer cited the new mobile apps as a “great example of the benefits of an open source approach.” He just might be right.
