SENSORS: With a maximum switching frequency of 20 kHz, the new magnetic Hall Sensors from Baumer perform up to five times faster than inductive sensors and are designed for detecting moving ferromagnetic objects such as toothed wheels, gears or racks. These high-resolution sensors feature IP68-rated housings that allow them to operate reliably in harsh environments exposed to vibration, shock and contaminants such as dust and oil.
As Hall sensors contain no moving parts and experience little wear even in high-speed applications, they can effectively replace incremental encoders for detecting rotational speed or direction. These sensors withstand temperatures ranging from -40 to 120C. The front face of the M12 full metal jacket is made of stainless steel to protect the sensor’s electronics from aggressive environments. Hall sensors offer an operating voltage range from 8 to 28V dc.
These sensors are appropriate for use in a range of applications including aerospace, automotive, energy, heavy equipment, marine, food and beverage processing, medical device manufacturing, metalworking, oil processing, laboratory automation, rubber and plastics fabrication, chemical processing, packaging, print/graphics, textile production, water treatment and wood production.
