Enjoyed the article on the Weidmuller PRO-M series Power Supplies. I know you can get them in various places, but I have discovered a resource that I wanted to share where I have found a limitless supply of all kinds of Weidmuller parts. There is a company out of the Houston, TX area called Specialty Control Systems that has one of the largest inventories of Weidmuller parts in the industry.

One of the things that we buy is their terminal blocks, specifically the W-series feed-through.

Here are the specs from their page:

WDU 1.5/2.5N FEED THRU TERMINAL BLOCK

-- UL: 300 V / 25 Amp / #22 .. 12 AWG
-- Dimensions: 5mm W x 44mm L x 37.5 mm H

Anyone else use these? Do they work well in your applications?

Really, what I was wondering is if anyone has heard of Specialty Control Systems before now? Apparently they have been around for a while. Just thought I would share a little hidden treasure.

Is the factory smarter than it used to be? From recent buzzwords, you’d think we’ve entered a new dimension in industrial plants, where robots run all physical functions wirelessly and humans do little more than program ever more capable robotics. Some of that is actually true, but it’s been true for a while.
