I believe that the entire Volkswagen Passat was designed by monkeys.
I have had numerous problems with my 2000 Volkswagen Passat, from water leaks to unsolvable emission problems, but the one I can’t get over is the brakes.
I had rear disk brakes and rotors put on the Passat about two years ago. As I was driving home, a computerized message showed the warning that the brake system failed.
STOP in bold letters came up and said see manual.
I took it back to the brake service and they said that the antilock brakes module was bad. I did some research on the internet and found that this is a common problem with various models of Volkswagens. I also took the car to a mechanic who I trust. He told me that he could not replace the module because it had to be done by a Volkswagen dealer and the average cost was over $1500.00.
The message on my information screen (still there) is a constant reminder to me never to buy another Volkswagen
I am glad they aren’t designing space shuttles.
