Funny, when I think about the '66 Alfa Romeo, I don't envision Dustin Hoffman in 'The Graduate' – Instead, I think of Maxwell Smart, agent 86.

Upon closer review however, (as you pointed out) I see Max drove a '65 Sunbeam.  See the two compared below:

Who can forget The California Kid?  Or The Prisoner's Lotus?

A jewler in my hometown bought James Bond's Aston Martin and for years after drove it in the local parades, with the shield in back going up and down, and the machine guns popping out of the headlights with a tacky recorded machine gun soundtrack.

@Elizabeth - Actually they switched to BMW in the middle and then back to Aston Martin. BMW came during Pierce Brosnan's era I believe.

Thanks for that, Chuck. I have ot say, I have to (sheepishly) admit...I haven't seen the full movie of Bullitt! Just some key scenes, like this one...Steve McQueen (and his car) were fierce, though!

Did they switch cars then in the new films? I haven't seen the latest...I always thought it was Aston Martin all the way...

@taimoortariq - No doubt the De Lorean was every kid's fantasy back in the 80's/90's. It's appearance in the Back To The Future movies was sufficient to make its significance last forever.

Yes, there is probably another collection of the less famous cars ready for comments.

And a lot of those cars had really neat features, and now that I consider it, maybe Bond's car never got dusty, either. But I don't believe that he ran up and down all those dirt roads. The clean "general" is still amazing.

I, too, have seen all these movies, bobjengr (except for the two that haven't come out yet). Admittedly, I've seen several of them multiple times. And, yes, I can't get enough of the Bullitt chase scene.

The General Lee was on my list, William K. I just ran out of time. Sounds like we've got some material for another Movie Cars slideshow.
