Right - the interface makes it so condusive to use and easy to understand. Building with standard web frameworks make it seem like any other app to the user. They also (at least for now :) ) feel privledged to use a modern device!

Not only that, but it might get people more excited to learn. Whereas they might not have wanted to learn an app on an old pc...hand them an IPad and they might actually have a desire to learn.

I agree with the choice in using such a device, because in fact almost everyone has one and knows how to use one. Training is sometimes very costly. Giving an employee a device they are already comfortable using just makes sense.  Kind of funny that being addicted to a hanldheld could actually help in your job.

Industrial apps can work to serve the production and client at the same time. This is the first time in history that technology can be easily adapted to benefit all of the different areas in production.

One of the longstanding constraints in injection molding production has been cooling time. Removing parts from the mold before they have cooled induces warping or shrinking. But wait time works against productivity.
