And turn the power off! If you can't - keep one hand in your hip pocket and have some rubber-soled shoes on.

Tip: Don't stand in a bucket of water while repairing a live wire. Seriously, accidents do happen from complacency, best keep your head in the game while working with any electrical current.

GFCIs and fuses

This is a good reminder of the importance of teaching electrical safety to children and adults alike. I am a big fan of GFCIs and fuses to prevent much of the electrical concerns stated in the article. As a Mom of young children, I used to use plastic covers to childproof outlets. GFCIs are nice but it is also important to instruct children on the dangers of AC outlets in general since not all outlets have them and sooner or later kids will encounter outlets that have not been childproofed. Teaching appliance safety is a top priority as well (don't stick any metal objects in the toaster!) Periodic wiring inspections are a good idea but often hard to implement because of location.

As industrial applications increasingly use process control systems utilizing sensor feedbacks to monitor various operating parameters, energy sources and consumption are becoming major factors of a system.
By asking more in-depth questions and providing customers with richer design data, distribution salespeople can quickly build credibility and help customers to avoid potential problems when they specify high-performance plastics.
Recent enhancements in rechargeable and primary (non-rechargeable) battery technologies enable industrial devices to perform beyond the limitations of legacy consumer batteries.
