Tekoship agreed, sometimes we even dont know who is the right person to ask about the product and marketors must have proper knowledge about the product and they should know what to ask , how to ask and when to ask .

For medical devices the right person to talk to might not be the doctor.  Very often the surgeon is not the person controlling the product.  The doctor may have a strong opinion about menu navigation or some other aspect of the product, but then you find out that the doctor may never even see the product.

Giving the customers what they ask for is also an interesting idea and according to this you are satisfying the customer but giving an alternative , modified version of their requirement or giving something more than what they asked for or ecpected is not only just satisfying the customer but it comes in delighting the customers and in this era majority of the marketors are working on delighting the customers in order to create them loyal to their brand or organisation.

It is basically your job to find the right people, ask the right questions, dig deaper and prepare your users properly by giving them trust and confidence so that they can interact and communicate with you with full honesty and trust .

Thanks Tom for such an informative topic no doubt without proper probing we cant get to know what actually customers want basically customer are very sensitive and emotional at one moment they want something and the very next moment they need something else . So understanding the need of the customer properly and asking appropriate questions can solve this problem to a great extent .
