"you are right that today electrical engineering is all about different softwares like AUTOCAD , Netsim, Boson etc but not having the deep knowledge and just knowing these softwares can make you successfull but one cant be a good electrical engineer without having deep understanding of all the workings etc"

Debara, since there is no coding nothing to worry. peripheral usage knowledge is sufficient to play around.

Yes Nelso things and trends are definitely changing every now and then we come across different MIT students either working on different projects or trying to invent or innovate something.

All good points; many educators have reversed the trend with revised curricula, in an effort to improve the engineers they are delivering to industry.

Nelso I do remember the times when universities produced just theoratical engineers but now the trand is changing and more and more practicle and innovative engineers are comming into the market because universities give them free hand to there creativity innovation etc which is one of the basic requirement .

Yes Charles you are absolutely correct I have come across soo many engineers who themselves took the initiative to learn the soft skills and I myself is one of them. I donno why in past engineers were not at all good in thete communication but I am glad that now we are getting awareness that no matterwe are engineer doctor or journalist our soft skills should be good because this is actually the key to success .

Chuck there are many things we engineer dont learn during our universities or schooling the major part we learn is during our professional lives , experiences etc . Because entering in to practicle lives help us gain experience and hand on on different things and issues .

Naperlou , you are absolutely correct it was a time when engineers were not good in communicating there ideas and thoughts and they usually had to ask someone to write there ideas or projects . But now Communication has become a basic skill in every profession even there are technical writers students who have done engineering have taken the profession of technical writing which involves communicating the thoughts of engineers on paper or reports.

Battar , programming is not the main or the core part of electrical engineering but  E engineers are required to write softwares when working with microcontrollers , motors and switching systems etc .

For an electrical engineer his physics should be strong as we know that this engineering is all about electromagnetic forces , wavelenghts etc so to be a good electrical engineer one should have strong concepts of physics .

The age of touch could soon come to an end. From smartphones and smartwatches, to home devices, to in-car infotainment systems, touch is no longer the primary user interface. Technology market leaders are driving a migration from touch to voice as a user interface.
Soft starter technology has become a way to mitigate startup stressors by moderating a motor’s voltage supply during the machine start-up phase, slowly ramping it up and effectively adjusting the machine’s load behavior to protect mechanical components.
Despite the astronomical benefits offered by 3D modeling, it is quite surprising that nearly 75% of the manufacturing industries still perform design operations using 2D CAD systems. What is the reason that keeps companies hesitant from adopting 3D technology?
Energy harvesting in particular seems to be moving at an accelerating pace. We now seem to be at a point where it is possible to run low-power systems primarily from energy harvesting sources. This is a big shift from even just a couple of years ago. Three key trends seem to have accelerated this dramatic shift.
ABI Research, a firm based in the UK that specializes in analyzing global connectivity and other emerging technologies, estimates there will be 40.9 billion active wirelessly interconnected “things” by 2020. The driving force is the usual suspect: the Internet of Things.
