While it was clear from the video that the metal strip was constricting, I think the demonstration would have been more compelling if repeated constrictions/expansions were filmed to demonstrate the back/forth effect and capabilities.
Muscle wire always amazes me. I was in a state of awe when we used it the very first time in college and it still makes me astonished even after all these years. The on/off cycle really annoys me; it takes the smoothness out of the system as one can actually observe the conversion.
