Lambda's 1,500W UltraFlex modular power supply can be configured with up to 20 outputs and has a full array of input and output signals. A single unit provides all the system voltages and currents normally powered by using multiple single-output supplies. Customers thus need to keep less inventory in stock, reducing costs. The power supply is targeted for semiconductor fabrication systems, and automated-test and factory-automation equipment.

"The high-power UltraFlex has 10 module slots available for inserting output modules, enabling the unit to deliver as much as 20 fully regulated outputs using dual-output modules," say Dorrel Vernon, Lambda product manager. "The extensive number of fully regulated outputs makes it an ideal alternative to purchasing numerous individual power supplies to meet multiple output voltage needs."

In addition, Vernon says the UltraFlex incorporates an active current sharing feature, providing balanced outputs between two or more similar output modules connected in parallel.

The compact 5- × 5- × 11-inch power module provides output voltages ranging from 1.8 to 52.8V, with no minimum load requirement on single output modules. Features include overvoltage, overload, and overtemperature protection, as well as a ±10% voltage adjustment on all outputs. The UltraFlex also has a standard array of seven converter and ten output module signals.

For customers selling into the international market, the power supply meets EN61000-3-2 power factor correction standards, IEC1000-4 input transient immunity standards, and EMI level B conducted and level A radiated standards. The device is CE marked and has UL 1950, CSA234, and EN60950 worldwide safety agency approvals.
