Sakaki-machi, Japan —Aoki Technical Laboratory Inc., a dedicated manufacturer of the injection stretch blow molding machine, introduces the SB500LL-75, developed for production of a variety of product shapes—from wide mouth containers to integrated-handle bottles to narrow-neck bottles of any shape, including round, square, and cone. The general-use machine features an actuator design with ac servomotor for turntable movement, said to be an industry first. Its purpose: faster cycle times. In addition, Aoki has made a number of other improvements to shorten molding cycle time and improve molding versatility:

  • For opening/closing of the mold in the injection mechanism, a synchronous circuit is adopted, replacing the conventional two-step method with simultaneous operation.
  • Synchronous blow mold opening and closing using a rack-and-pinion mechanism also contributes to higher operating speed.
  • A height-adjustable blow mold clamping unit is employed for easy use of the hot runner and improvements in molding versatility.
  • Higher injection capacity due to a 25% increase in injection pressure.
  • Faster screw rotational speeds.

Finally, mold changeover is easier and quicker thanks to a hydraulic cylinder for sliding the blow unit from the machine during mold changes.
