GORESHIELD® SMT EMI gaskets are designed for use in EMI shielding applications on the ground trace of printed circuit boards as well as RF grounding pads or interconnects. In the latter use, the product reportedly conducts currents of a primary RF signal in the same way a connector conducts RF currents from a PCB to a coaxial cable.

Modular wiring
Interfast MS is an electronic wiring system which is said to offer modularity and flexibility by combining terminal block interface modules with pluggable electronic functions which simplify system design and maintenance. The product is designed to connect with the company's prewired and tested programmable logic controller (PLC) cables, allowing connection of PLCs to field and control equipment.
Detector switches from this company are now available in four versions. The TD1104 is top actuated for PC mounting, while the TD1105A and TD1105A are orthogonal PC mounted with the actuator to the right or left of center. All three are available in SPST with a contact rating of 0.1A 30V, while the TD1106 is also SPST but rated at 1A 16V dc and permits screwin mounting.

Microcontroller
FEC-FC34 from this company is a compact microcontroller designed for low-cost distributed processing and local and remote process communication. The product is said to have Ethernet 10Base-T connectivity and TCP/IP protocol, and also reportedly offers system designers the option to link multiple units together to handle distributed processing tasks.
Model 645T two-wire transmitters from this company feature two independent I/O channels in a single package. The product is said to receive dc voltage input signals, provide isolation, and create output proportional to 4 to 20 mA dc current signals. The product also is said to provide two independent high-voltage isolation circuits, so that power loss on one channel does not affect the other.

Test sockets
PGA ZIF test sockets from this company now include a 9 x 9 grid size version, allowing just one socket to handle a full range of device sizes, footprints, and pin counts. A metal cam in each socket activates the product's normally closed contacts, eliminating a dependency on plastic to sustain contact force. A stainless steel handle can be provided on either the right or left side, and the product plugs into standard PGA sockets.
E200II Series dc-ac inverters from this company are said to provide a reliable solution for powering LCDs backlit by CCFTs (cold cathode fluorescent tubes). The products are said to be completely encapsulated to provide high shock resistance and durability, and the magnetics and other properties can be customized according to customer specifications.

Power supplies
L Series ac/dc power supplies provide a reported 7W per cubic inch power density in a compact 1.58 × 1.86 × 10.08- inch package. The product can be used alone or combined to provide multiple outputs for computers or telecommunications equipment. Droop current sharing with isolation diodes is also available to form the basis of a hot pluggable redundant system.

DRO
This voltage-controlled VCO/DRO is housed in a hermetically sealed Murata-Erie style dual line package. The product has four leads, two mounting studs, and measures 0.8 × 0.5 × 0.38 inches. Frequencies from 10,000 to 12,600 GHz are available. Output power is a reported 7 dBm minimum, while the electronic tuning gives 5 MHz change with 0 to 5V dc input.

Sensing IC
IR2170 is an over-current sensing IC for ac or brushless dc motor drive applications up to 230V ac input. The product is designed to sense motor current directly through an external sense resistor and report an error if the current exceeds a preset threshold in either negative or positive polarities. Applications include light industrial ac and brushless dc motor drives, and appliances such as washing machines and air conditioners.

Connector
CARL high-density connectors are designed to connect flexible printed circuits or flat flexible cables to a matting pad or printed circuit board without the need for a mating connector or soldering, which is said to eliminate several points of system failure. The product uses a clamp pressure system to create what the company says are reliable gas-tight connections with zero insertion force.

Light Matters: Systems Level Approach to HBLED illumination applications
Its good practice to apply a systems-level approach to high-brightness LED (HBLED) illumination applications. Minimally, the system includes the optical, thermal and electrical characteristics of the of the HBLED, the lens (if any) which is built-in to its package, secondary optics such as external plastic lenses/reflectors to direct the light as your application requires and power driver electronics.
