A Digital Doodling Device for Spur-of-the-Moment Ideas
Terry Costlow, Contributing Editor -- Design News, June 2, 2008
Legend has it many innovative products were designed on napkins or envelopes. CandleDragon's dotPen Pro hopes to bring that level of freedom to the digital era. The drawing device converts free-hand drawing into vector graphics, letting creative people draw on any flat surface and create data that can be utilized by a host of software tools including Adobe and Corel. An embedded Texas Instruments' C2000 digital signal controller and two imaging sensors triangulate pen position and track pen movement, angle and applied pressure. This data can be uploaded to a Smartphone, Blackberry, PDA or computer using a Bluetooth or USB connection.
