TDX SP Uses ITT Connectors to Reduce Wheelchair Clutter and Weight
Terry Costlow, Contributing Editor -- Design News, April 30, 2007
The TDX SP extends its Invacare Total Driving eXperience line of power wheelchairs, enhancing performance and improving ride quality. The Elyria, OH, maker of home medical products employs connectors from ITT Electronic Components of Santa Ana, CA, to help reduce clutter and weight. The stacking power interconnects provide seven contacts and handling up to 15 amps. A lock mechanism reduces troublesome disconnects between the batteries and the 4-pole motors. The new wheelchair offers an elevate system with 7 inches of lift and a recline feature that lays back 170 degrees.
