The Belkin Cable-Free USB Hub lets consumers link USB-compatible hardware to a computer without plugging in wires. It uses Ultra-Wideband (UWB) technology, deploying the Wisair chipset to let home users locate laptops anywhere and still print, play music, scan, download photos and burn CDs from anywhere in the room. The four-port hub connects USB printers, cameras, scanners and other devices located up to 30 ft away, transferring data at speeds of up to 480 Mbps for USB 2.0 devices. It lists for $199.99, including a USB dongle that ties the hub to the host computer.
