(http://rbi.ims.ca/4917-543). To determine the composition of solid materials, Innov-X uses X-ray Fluorescence (XRF) in its portable X-ray system. The technique measures energy or wavelength emissions and processes the pulse data using Analog Devices' ADSP-BF533 Blackfin DSP to match specific elements on the periodic table. Innov-X chose the ADSP-BF533 for its combined signal and control processing capabilities, as well as other integrated features. The application uses the single chip's high-speed Parallel Peripheral Interface (PPI) and Direct Memory Access (DMA) controllers to transfer high-speed data to on-chip memory. Light Matters: Systems Level Approach to HBLED illumination applications Its good practice to apply a systems-level approach to high-brightness LED (HBLED) illumination applications. Minimally, the system includes the optical, thermal and electrical characteristics of the of the HBLED, the lens (if any) which is built-in to its package, secondary optics such as external plastic lenses/reflectors to direct the light as your application requires and power driver electronics.
