Galil Accelera Series

By Design News Staff -- Design News, February 6, 2006

The first in the company's line of its fifth generation of motion controllers, the DMC-18×6 delivers greater speed and processing power than its predecessors. The new controller can accept encoder inputs up to 22 MHz, a must when using high-resolution feedback sensors. It can update servos at 24 msec per axis, benefiting low-inertia, high bandwidth motor applications. It can control up to 8 axes. Users purchase only the number of axes they need and configure each individually for stepper or servo motor use. Visitors to last fall's Design News E2E motion control seminarhttp://e2e.unisfair.com/index.jsp may recognize many of the new controller's high performance features such as advanced PID compensation, velocity and acceleration feedforward, integrator limits, notch and low-pass filters, and backlash compensation.
