Measuring Temperature Accurately in Blood Tester
Randy Frank -- Design News, January 9, 2006
Polymer Technology Systems, Inc. CardioChek Self-Test System (http://rbi.ims.ca/4911-548).This accurate, palm-sized self-blood test system allows users to determine their cholesterol levels (Total, HDL, and LDL) as well as measure glucose, ketones, and triglycerides in about a minute. The unit requires accurate temperature measurements to provide the correct results. The CardioChek uses the aSM121 SiMistor, a CMOS silicon thermistor, with integrated linear calibration from Andigilog that measures temperature to ±1C. The aSM121 measures the ambient temperature and allows the CardioChek to calibrate itself prior to determining the various levels in the sample. For more information on Andigilog's aSM121silicon thermistor, go to http://rbi.ims.ca/4911-549.
