Disney has put its imagineers to work once again, and this time they brought in the astronauts. Walt Disney World's Epcot Center opened up its "Mission: SPACE" ride in October, sending kids and adults alike on a trip to Mars via a combination of visual imaging, motion control, and centrifuge technology. Once inside the fictitious X-2 Deep-Space Shuttle, riders play the role of commander, pilot, navigator, or engineer, while experiencing accelerations found in spaceflight.
