Sensors

Series 03, 04, 05, 06, and 08 inductive proximity switches incorporate ASIC and flip-chip technology, and are equipped with short-circuit, reverse polarity, voltage surge, and EMT protection. Series 03 sensors measure 3 mm in diameter and can be manufactured as small as 16 mm in length. Baumer Electric Ltd., www.baumerelectric.com. Enter 621

Converter

The 60A half-brick dc/dc converter is available in two models: the open frame ALH60, and the heat sink adaptable AEH60. Both models reportedly operate at efficiency rates as high as 91% on the 3.3V model, and 89% on the 1.8V model. Astec Power, www.astec.com. Enter 622

Transducers

T10FS torque transducers reportedly feature higher speeds and smaller mass moments of inertia than the T10F torque flange. The transducers include models with rated torques from 500 Nm to 10 kNm, and speeds up to 22,000 rpm. Applications include high-performance automotive testing, such as Formula One engine test stands and transmission test stands. HBM Inc., www.hbm.com. Enter 623

Multichannel board

The PXI-1409 multichannel, monochrome, image-acquisition board combines a high-speed PCI bus with timing and triggering features to provide asynchronous acquisition and integration with motion and data acquisition (DAQ) devices. The board uses double-speed progressive-scan cameras at speeds up to 60 frame/sec. The PXI-1490 is suitable for a a range of industries, including optoelectronics, biotech, pharmaceutical, automotive, and telecommunications. National Instruments, www.ni.com. Enter 624

Jacks

These modular jacks reportedly provide a lower profile than a standard modjack for maximum PCB stackability in one-, two-, or four-port variations. The modular jacks measure 9.43 mm from the top of the PCB to the top of the jack, allowing for board stacking. Three shield options are available: standard, enhanced grounding tabs, and bezel ground tabs. Applications include networking equipment such as hubs, routers, and switches. Molex Inc., www.molex.com. Relays

The Series SQ contains four independently controlled solid-state relays with an output of up to 25A and 280V ac. The Series C3P offers three-phase output of 25A, 280V ac, and dc control. Series SQ devices are suitable for heating control, motor control, and industrial and process controls. Applications for Series C3P relays include on/off controls of high-power ac equipment and interfacing of microprocessor controls to ac loads. Teledyne Relays, www.teledynerelays.com. Enter 626

Sensors

Weldguard™ sensors have a front face material that reportedly lasts 13 or more times longer than standard sensor face material. The sensors' barrel material can be stainless steel or teflon coated. The barrel comes in 8, 12, 18, and 30 mm, and cube style CA40. The sensors are also available in ac/dc ferrite core with WFI, dc U-prox®, and extended range ferrite core with 2- and 3-wire dc. The sensors are suitable for resistance welding applications. TURCK Inc., www.turck.com. Enter 627

Terminal strips

The 745 series of terminal strips features a current rating of 50A. The terminal strips are available with a pin spacing of 15 and 20 mm, and are designed for use with wire gauges from #24 to #6 AWG. The 745 series also allows the use of jumpers to loop through potentials or connect current circuits in parallel. Separate test slots can be accessed, even with the wires connected.
