By Kevin Russelburg, Contributing Editor -- Design News, February 5, 2001
Washington—The number of undergraduate students choosing to study engineering has remained steady from last year, after an increase in the previous two years, according to the Engineering Workforce Commission (EWC).
The national total of full time engineering students enrolled in the fall of 1999 was 323,713 a 1.8% decrease from 1998. The totals from the last two years indicate a robust engineering student population compared to the numbers from a few years ago.
