Connectors

Wire nut connectors feature a no-slip spring insert that creates a secure connection. The insert threads the wires after an assembler inserts them, so pre-twisting is not necessary. The wing nuts withstand gasolines, oils, alkalines, and acids. Their polypropylene shells are color coded by wire size range.

Filter

Flex-Frame air filters can bend around jutting components and other obstacles in small electronics enclosures. The flame-retardant, polypropylene frame comes in thicknesses ranging from 0.03 to 0.12 inch for varying degrees of rigidity.

Relay

Equipped with an RS-485 port that is Modbus compatible, the Motor Logic Plus™solid-state overload relay can provide motor protection and diagnostics as a stand-alone device or over a network. Users can network up to 100 relays, and program and control them remotely via a PC. The relay protects motors from high voltage, low voltage, voltage unbalance, current unbalance, phase reversal, rapid cycling, and other hazards.

Interface card

The BU-65565 MIL-STD-1553 PMC card provides a hardware and software interface between an embedded system with a PCI bus and one or more 1553 buses. Cards include one to four dual redundant 1553 channels and a 32-bit, 33-MHz PCI interface that operates at 3.3 or 5V.

D/A converters

Triple D/A converters are available with 8- or 10-bit resolution and operate at 100, 150, or 200 MHz to provide high-quality analog RGB and video output. Features include powerdown control to conserve battery power, double-buffered digital inputs for low distortion, and a bandgap voltage reference.

T coupler

The BusQuick™T-Coupler I/O system provides RFI/EMI protection and speeds installation of Fieldbus cabling compared with screw terminal technology. To make a 3-way connection, a user inserts each cable into one of the device's connecting ports then twists the central contacting element. The system has a class IP 67 rating and operates from -25 to 85C.

Sensors

CR7310 series sensors detect ground fault currents of 10 mA to 100A in single- and multiple-phase electrical systems running from 120 or 240V ac. When ground current reaches the adjustable trip-point level, the sensor's electromechanical relay energizes, illuminates the tripped LED, and provides an output signal. The devices are rated UL 1053-Class 1.

A/D converter

Designed as a 2-chip set to minimize mixed-signal crosstalk and noise, an 18-bit dual-slope integrating A/D converter draws 28µA. The ALD500R analog chip performs dual-slope integration and includes a precision voltage reference. The ALD521D microprocessor provides the necessary control and handshake functions for outputting a 24-bit serial binary data word. Applications include PC-based digital panel meters, laboratory datalogging, process monitors, and calibration systems.
