The new, double rail linear motion system from Stock Drive Products was designed for applications in automatic assembly machines, X-Y tables, photographic enlargers and duplicators, and multiple-torch welding and flame cutting machines. The system has a choice of four sizes of double rails, in six lengths ranging from 13.5 to 122.5 inches, with rail heights from 0.600 to 1.407 inches. The wheel plate carriages come in three types--standard, commercial, and with built-in wipers--and in four carriage sizes.
The S16A8 servo amplifier from Advanced Motion Controls was designed to combine small package size and low cost. It uses sinusoidal commutation for ripple-free and low cogging performance, providing low-speed smoothness and precision. Its measurements are 3 x 5 x 1.52 inches, with a 20 to 80V dc power supply, for 16A peak and 8A continuous output.
The Dyna Series right-angle servo gearbox from Gam uses hypoid gearing to deliver high torque and positioning accuracy, with efficiencies up to 96% and low backlash and noise. It offers the compactness of a worm gearbox with the performance of a planetary servo gearbox, with ratios as high as 15:1 in a single gear stage. It can withstand high input speeds with a standard backlash of 4 arc-min, and a possible backlash of less than 2 arc-min. It offers 8 ratios from 3:1 to 15:1 with one or two output shafts, or with a hollow bore configuration.
The TS 632 infrared 3D touch probe from Heidenhain promises continuous operation of 250 hours for use on fully-automated milling machines and machining centers. It is powered by a lithium battery, with a contact-free optical switch sensor. And its 3D touch trigger probes allow the user to perform setup tasks quickly and precisely.
