A recent study by Georgia Institute of Technology found that the elderly would give up some of their privacy to remain independent longer. The study involved 44 adults aged 65 to 75 with such privacy-invading technology as Digital Family Portrait, which transmits photos of the elder being monitored to the caregiver and Facebot, a communication device that allows residents to talk directly to it for commands.
