To increase the efficiency of sample analysis, the Swagelok® SSV system offers double-block and bleed functionality in a single valve module.
The Stream Selector System offers designers compact, modular assemblies for designing process analyzer sampling systems. The system handles multiple process streams with each stream controlled by a double-block and bleed module to eliminate cross-contamination of sample streams. An integrated flow loop provides consistent outlet flow and ensures fast and efficient purging. The resulting system efficiently delivers a representative sample from multiple sample streams to a single analyzer. For engineers designing process analyzers for oil refineries and chemical plants, these modular assemblies are ANSI/ISA 76.00.02 compatible. Modules are removed vertically and can accommodate multiple process streams in a limited amount of space. The SSV solves a number of problems for process analyzer system designers. The DBB module itself offers the functionality of three valves. An insert screw design provides a method for connecting each of the base blocks independently, and the screws are captured within each block by the inserts so that they cannot be lost or damaged when reconfiguring the system. A vented air gap prevents mixing of pneumatic actuator supply and system fluid under pressure. The vented air gap will not allow a potentially dangerous system to be created within the valve. The SSV system improves visual indication with a colored ring around the exposed piston and interchangeable colored caps to simplify stream identification. A visual indicator at the top of the DBB module consists of a colored ring around the exposed piston which provides the valve's status. An innovative base block design provides consistent outlet flow regardless of the stream selected, and creates an easy method for connecting additional streams.
