New Proximity Sensors Designed for Manufacturing Showcased at Design & Manufacturing Midwest Show

Control Engineering -- Design News, September 22, 2009

Manufacturers of proximity sensors are among those showcasing new products at the Design & Manufacturing Midwest show, Sept. 22-24, in Rosemont, IL. Sensor manufacturers include Balluff, Banner Engineering, Carlo Gavazzi and Turck, among others.

Trends in new sensor designs aim to make sensors easier to use, lower cost, and more adaptable to various applications, which can decrease the number of sensor models required in the stockroom.

Balluff's UltraFrame Thru-Beam Sensors
Balluff's UltraFrame series is the latest in self-contained thru-beam sensor technology and is designed to solve problems many other sensors cannot. Error-proofing and process monitoring are included. (Booth 921) Read more

Banner Engineering's World-Beam QS30 Clear Object Sensors Are Robust, Easy-to-Use

Banner Engineering's World-Beam QS30 Clear Object Sensor provides reliable clear object detection to solve challenging applications, the company says, by using an advanced optical design to allow the sensor to see translucent materials, ensuring dependable detection of clear targets, including PET bottles and glass containers. Light Matters: The Unsung Heroes of Modern Health Care
First, let's define "no-compromise." In an ideal configuration, this lamp would use a high-brightness LED (HBLED) that is built into a small, integrated package and is able to produce a large quantity of focused light, operate with a high level of reliability and generate no audible noise. Is this difficult? Yes, but it is possible.
