One downside to portable PCs is the thieves who sometimes enjoy that portability. Samsung is making it difficult for them to steal data, using a fingerprint sensor to provide security. AuthenTec's AES1610 fingerprint sensor is a standard feature on Samsung's X360, a fully featured 13.3-inch PC that weighs only 2.8 lb. In addition to keeping unauthorized users from accessing data on the PC, the sensor can also be used for password authentication on websites. The sensor reads the live layer below the skin's surface so it has fewer errors than alternative sensing.

Is this difficult? Yes, but it is possible. Read More
