Can't patent it -- it is 'prior art'.

They are called 'phone dialers' and can be bought at Radio Shack, alarm supply houses, etc. for typically less than $100. Usually they play a tape.

The DC blocking capacitor is nonpolar because the phone line's ringing voltage which can be as high as 90V p-p AC when superimposed on the DC phone line 'carrier' voltage will cause the combined voltage seen across the cap to reverse potential during each ringing cycle.

This is cool, easy, and applicable. I did not know pulse dialing was still avaiable. I have installed video cameras (4) at my home and wanted some way to have the house automaically notify me instead of me having to always check. Thanks for the idea.
