TouchStrip Fingerprint Authentication Module

The TouchStrip is a biometric security subsystem designed for fast integration and quick time-to-market in personal computers. The module includes a silicon sensor and custom ASIC, which, together, perform biometric authentication functions. The sensor and companion chip are mounted on a printed circuit board, forming a complete subsystem that can be integrated into a PC. Plugged in via USB, the module requires no knowledge of biometrics on the part of design engineers. During operation, the TouchStrip module authenticates PC users with active pixel sensing technology, and encrypts communication to a network or remote server to prevent data "tapping" or hacking. It enables banks, hospitals and corporate IT departments to reliably know who is on the other end of a data line.
