Slideshow: Bioplastics Concept Car Runs on Biofuel
News 3/28/2014 26 comments Plastics have been a big deal in automotive lightweighting for quite a while, but bioplastics not so much. Until now. The Biofore Concept Car, using biomaterials from Finnish manufacturer UPM and running on UPM's biodiesel, premiered at the Geneva International Motor Show earlier this month.
Two new technologies from Stratasys, created in partnership with Boeing, Ford, and Siemens, will bring accurate, repeatable manufacturing of very large thermoplastic end products, and much bigger composite parts, onto the factory floor for industries including automotive and aerospace.
Focus on Fundamentals consists of 45-minute on-line classes that cover a host of technologies.
