Meet Francois J. Castaing, former technical advisor to the chairman of DaimlerChrysler Corp. Francois has worked a lifetime in the automotive industry, including co-founding USCAR with GM and Ford, serving as Executive Vice President of Chrysler, and heading up Chrysler International Operations. He continues to serve on the boards of several national and international automotive, engineering, and scientific organizations.

Design, analysis, and test provide the basic building blocks for all product-development cycles, and combining them leads to faster design iterations. The integration of CAD design models, CAE analysis models, and physical-prototype test data provides a continuum in which engineer can take advantage of real-world measurements within design cycles. A panel of technical experts from National Instruments, SolidWorks/COSMOS, and MSC.Software will discuss the challenges and the solutions inherent in this approach. The panel also will address how engineers can compare the results of simulations and prototype tests in a 3-D visualization environment to pinpoint problems and correct them before a design reaches production.
